A Sweet 16 Card

I was "commissioned" to make a Sweet 16 card.  I didn't want to use the traditional car pic for some reason, so I chose a butterfly (Go figure!)  Butterflies are my favorite... and the symbolism of them coming out of their "cocoon" represents that of a teen too!  Though I would hazard to say that many of them leave their "cocoon" to be a Tasmanian devil, then butterflies!  LOL  (having worked with troubled youth for a while, I saw my share of youth at the Tasmanian devil stages!  Oddly, I  miss it, but just a little....perhaps I miss the "action"!
 So, here's the card!

PTI Terracotta tile paper and ribbon, PTI smokey shadow paper, some beads, a butterfly charm, a plain round earring to "string" them on and a matching eyelet. (and of course I used my Crop-a-Dile to set the eyelet!  The easiest way!)
Darling background paper from KaiserCraft and Stazon ink
Cricut Cut Letters with my Jasmine cartridge
I used Water color pencils and a Dove Blender pen for the image.  I used a mixture of oranges and reds to get the color just right on the butterfly and used stickles to highlight the outline.

Love this butterfly stamp, one of MANY!  DOH....After I thought it would have been easier to heat emboss the outlines with glitter embossing powder, but it was already done!  :)

My client that wanted this card often orders from me.  She has used this great verse from Nelson Mandella as the inside of the card on a number of occasions.  I have it saved, in "card size", on my PC so I can just adjust the name and print for her.  So....using your printer is a great way to get extra sentiments or to do up the interior of the card.  A decorated inside really completes the product and some people just love the fact that they don't even need to write anything if they don't want to!

Have a great day everyone!!  Happy Card making and craftin!
